Eminem Reveals He's 'Rebuilding' Shady Records

Publicado

With the release last year of his album Relapse, Eminem announced to the world that he was looking after himself and his music after a five-year hiatus. Now, as he puts the finishing touches on his follow-up, Recovery, the Detroit MC says he plans to focus on his record label, Shady Records.

In an interview with BBC's Radio 1 on Friday (June 4), Eminem was asked about mentoring up-and-coming rappers, and Em admitted he'd been eying a few acts.

"We're kinda trying to start the process of rebuilding our label, Shady Records," he said. "I'm sure I'll be looking for younger talent, coming up. There's a new group we're looking to sign, Slaughterhouse," he said referring to the rap supergroup made up of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce da 5'9". "But I don't want to give anything away. We're looking at a few [artists] now."

Slaughterhouse has been linked to Em for some time, beginning last year when the foursome appeared with Eminem in Drake's "Forever" video. Their cameo led to speculation that the heralded underground lyricists would soon be connecting with the Slim Shady camp.

Royce da 5'9" spoke to MTV News in September and didn't deny the rumors.

"It's very much what it looks like," Royce said of Slaughterhouse joining the Shady roster. "That's always a possibility. It's conversations being had, very good conversations. I just did an interview recently and they asked me to address the rumors. I said, 'Rumors are what they are, people see things and they jump to a conclusion.' I never said it wasn't going to happen — I left it right there in the middle. I think it would be a great thing if it could happen."

Earlier this year, Ortiz said negotiations were in the "ninth inning," but more important, the Brooklyn wordsmith revealed Slaughterhouse and Emimem have already begun collaborating on music while they wait for the ink to dry on the paperwork.

"We got in the studio with Em already," he said. "We traded bars and stuff with all of us."

Miley Cyrus Shocks TV Audience Again With Fake Lesbian Kiss

Publicado

Hannah Montana is gone, if there were any doubts all one has to do is take a look at Miley Cyrus' recent actions.

The star that Disney built is kicking open the door to womanhood fast so parents might want to have their younger kids watch her new performances with caution.

The 17 year old star performed her new song "Can't Be Tamed" on the UK's family friendly show Britain's Got Talent.

During the performance one of her male dancers reaches for her breast and she knocks his hand away. Then she pretends to lock lips with a female dancer for a passionate lesbian kiss.

This latest show of the new adult oriented Miley comes on the heels of her appearance last weekend in Lisbon, Portugal where she wore a skimpy, skintight olive-colored leotard plus studded leather jacket and black high-heeled peep toe boots.

Miley may find it a little bit harder to get fans to accept the "new" look because she's been the face of Disney for so long. But that's not stopping her from trying to shed the "innocent" label quickly.

Gary Coleman 911 Call From Wife Shannon.

Publicado  June 3, 2010

Most people would do whatever it took to help their wife or husband if they were hurt badly. Drive them to the emergency room, bandage a wound, at the very least stay by their side until an ambulance got there.

Gary Coleman's wife, Shannon Price does none of those things after she discovers him bleeding profusely from a head wound suffered in a reported fall.

She does at least call 911.

"There's blood everywhere, I don't know what happened...I just heard this bang and I went down there and there's blood all over the floor," she tells the 911 operator.

Price explains that she can't stay down there with him because the stress may cause her to have a seizure, even though realizes her husband is badly hurt, "send someone quick because I don't know if he's gonna be alive."

She does eventually go downstairs after some prodding from the operator but doesn't stay long.

"I just can't be here with the blood, I can't do it, I have my dog," she says.

The rest of the call plays out this way with Shannon giving various reasons why she can't help more or drive Gary to the hospital.

She's asked by the 911 operator if she can tell Gary to put pressure on the back of his head.

"No I can't, it's all bloody and I'm not trying to do.....he's not with it."

What makes this all more disturbing and possibly sinister is the fact that the two were reportedly legally divorced at the time Shannon made the decision to pull Gary's life support.

Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Gary filed for and was granted a divorce from Shannon in 2008. When ET contacted the hospital with this information they were told:

"We had no indication that the information Shannon gave us was false. She portrayed herself as his wife."

Hero Of Baseball Game Breaks Leg During Game Winning Celebration

Publicado

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Kendry Morales broke his lower left leg while celebrating his winning grand slam in a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners Saturday.

Morales will undergo surgery Sunday with ankle specialist Phil Kwong. The Angels did not release a timetable for his return, but the severity of the injury suggests it could be season-ending. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Morales has emerged as one of the game's up-and-coming stars. He finished fifth in MVP balloting last November and was leading the Angels in batting average (.290), home runs (11), RBIs (39) and total bases. He was the only Angel to play in all 51 games.

"This is bad," teammate Torii Hunter said.

The Angels players had surrounded home plate in anticipation of Morales' arrival. He flung his helmet aside and leaped as he reached the dish.

According to Angels manager Mike Scioscia, he did not land on a player's foot, but simply slipped on the plate and slipped, all 225 pounds landing on his turned ankle.

He collapsed and remained on top of home plate for several minutes, the Angels clustered around him. Trainers administered an air cast to Morales' left foot and he was placed on a stretcher and carted off the field.

Losing Morales for an extended period of time could be a crushing blow to the Angels' already-wobbly playoff hopes.

"It's a blow whenever you lose him for a couple days. Right now he's the best hitter on the ball club. He can really hit," Hunter said. "It really hurts the offense if he's out of the lineup."

Scioscia and general manager Tony Reagins both said the team will celebrate winning home runs in a different manner moving forward.

"It sure is exciting, but you always wondered if there's an accident waiting to happen," Scioscia said. "I know it's happened before."

In 2002, Minnesota Twins utility man Denny Hocking injured his finger when a teammate stepped on it during the team's celebration of its American League Division Series win over the Oakland A's.

Earlier in the game, Hunter left after being hit in the left hand by a Felix Hernandez fastball, but X-rays proved negative.

"I'm just worried about Kendry. He's one of our best hitters. To see a great moment go sour like that, it's pretty bad. Hopefully he's just got a sprained ankle or something small like that," Hunter said.

Actor, Dennis Hopper Dies At 74 After Battling Cancer

Publicado

Dennis Hopper, the hard-living Hollywood icon who directed and starred in the classic "Easy Rider" before sobering up for an acclaimed second act in a remarkable career, died Saturday.

The actor, whose critically-hailed performances dated back to "Rebel Without A Cause" opposite mentor James Dean, died of complications from prostate cancer at his Venice, Calif., home.

He was 74. Hopper - who was in the middle of a contentious divorce with his fifth wife - was surrounded by family and friends, according to Reuters.

Hopper earned a pair of Oscar nominations that reflected his wildly disparate talents: the first for co-writing 1969's cult classic "Easy Rider," and the second for his portrayal of an alcoholic hoops coach in "Hoosiers" nearly two decades later.

The latter role came after Hopper, one of Hollywood's most unremitting drug and alcohol abusers, beat his addictions and restarted his career - including roles in the quirky "Blue Velvet" and the big budget "Speed."

Hopper co-wrote "Easy Rider" with co-star Peter Fonda and Terry Southern, creating a low-budget biker flick that become a blockbuster.

The movie also starred an unknown Jack Nicholson as a hard-drinking attorney. Across his five-decade career, Hopper also starred in Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" as a demented photographer and in "Giant" opposite Dean.

He directed the Los Angeles gang movie "Colors," starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn - who was so impressed that he later named his son Hopper.

The veteran actor first fell ill last September, but continued working on the cable television program "Crash" despite the cancer.

The counterculture hero received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just two months ago.

Pidgeon Being Held Under Armed Guard In India On Suspicion Of Spying For Pakistan

Publicado

Indian police are holding a pigeon under armed guard after it was caught on an alleged spy mission for neighboring Pakistan, media reported Friday.

The white-colored bird was found by a local resident in India's Punjab state, which borders Pakistan, and taken to a police station 25 miles from the city of Amritsar.

The pigeon had a ring around its foot and a Pakistani phone number and address stamped on its body in red ink.

Police officer Ramdas Jagjit Singh Chahal told the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency that they suspected the pigeon landed on Indian soil from Pakistan with a message, although no trace of a note was found.

Officials directed that no one should be allowed to visit the pigeon, which police said was possibly on a "special mission of spying."

The bird was medically examined and kept in an air-conditioned room under police guard.

Senior officers asked to be kept updated on the situation three times a day, PTI reported.

Chahal said local pigeon keepers in the sensitive border area told police that Pakistani pigeons were easily identifiable as they looked different from Indian ones, according to the Indian Express newspaper.

Robbers Use Sleeping Drug Laced Tea To Rob Iraq Bank Of $5.5 Million

Publicado

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- Robbers stole $5.5 million from a southern Iraqi state bank after giving guards tea laced with a sleeping drug, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.

No shots were fired during the incident Friday at a bank near Najaf, the Interior Ministry said. The money is the equivalent of 6.5 billion Iraqi dinars.

In recent months, there has been a spike of similar incidents and authorities believe that insurgents were behind them to fund their military operations

Earlier this week, 15 people died in southwestern Baghdad after a brazen series of jewelry store heists on Tuesday in which bandits made off with gold and money.

In this latest incident, robbers had an associate among the bank's guard force give drugged tea to the guards, officials said.

After the guards passed out, the robbers entered the bank and made off with the money.

Two people were arrested, but police were not able to recover any of the money. The Interior Ministry said it appears the two are poor people trying to make money and are not part of a terrorist organization.

Members of the bank's guard force are being investigated, the Interior Ministry said.

Neighbor Suing Beyonce Over Video Shoot Claiming He Was ''Disturbed All Day''

Publicado

Los Angeles - Beyonce and a video producer were sued Friday by a man who says access to his Mt. Olympus home was blocked for hours during a video and still photography session for the R&B singer/actress.

Philip Markowitz is seeking unspecified damages from the singer and producer Dina Ciccotello on private nuisance and trespass allegations.

A representative for Beyonce was not immediately available for comment on the Los Angeles Superior Court complaint.

According to the suit, the video shoot for the Beyonce song "Why Don't You Love Me," with a crew of about 30 people, took place March 26, beginning about 7 a.m. and lasting until 11 p.m.

The plaintiff said the activity made it difficult for him to come and go, and he had to get an off-duty officer to "guide him past the obstructions."

The plaintiff says he was "disturbed all day with noise and his dog barking at the crew while they trespassed on his driveway."

Markowitz says that when he demanded compensation for his inconvenience -- he had previously received $10,000 for use of his property -- Ciccotello told him the shoot had a low budget and the payment could only be approved "in concept."

Rapper 50 Cent Confirms Authenticity Of "Slimmed-Down" Pics - His Weight Is Already Back At 198 - Tells Why He Refused To See A Doctor - Finds Inspira

Publicado

50 Cent caused one collective jaw drop with the startling photos of himself weighing a slender 160 pounds. In an exclusive interview with Rap-Up.com, the rapper-turned-actor explains how he lost 54 pounds to play a cancer-stricken football player in his upcoming film Things Fall Apart, how actor Christian Bale inspired his drastic transformation, how much he weighs now, and whether fans will be able to recognize him on his “Invitation” tour, which kicks off tomorrow night in Detroit.

For those who still can’t believe it, can you confirm the authenticity of those photos?
Yeah, they’re absolutely real. I shot the first half of the film for eight days and then I left for my international tour, and I spent that time training to lose weight. I had a week and a half after coming back to really intensely train to get down to 160 for the last half of the film project, Things Fall Apart. It’s myself, Mario Van Peebles, Lynn Whitfield, and Ray Liotta starring in the project. It’s directed by Mario Van Peebles.

We barely recognized you.
Yeah, it was a lot for me to actually get there. After the second week, it was crazy. They say it takes 30 days to make a habit, but man… I was on the Internet and I was looking at Christian Bale, while The Machinist was out, he almost killed himself. I was feeling like maybe I’m overdoing it and I’m dropping 54 pounds, but I was in such a good physical state prior to me deciding to go down on the weight.

What motivated you?
I just trained to get as big as I physically could be for the first half. It felt like I had a lot of muscle on me still and I was trying to lose as much as possible to be authentic to what I saw in my experience, because my motivation for the project was my best friend, Charles Pringle. He lived across the street from me; he actually died of cancer. It’s a serious topic. One out of eight people in the world die of cancer. It tops HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria together. If you’re not actually gonna die of cancer, chances are someone you’re active with in your life is.

Have you put on weight since then?
Right now I weigh 198 pounds. I’m trying to get back to 200 and then I’ll start weight training again to get my body back together.

So will your fans still be able to recognize you onstage?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ll never go out looking crazy like I just smoked something [laughs]. I’m trying to get myself back together immediately.
