Grandson Of Real 'Teflon Don' John Gotti Outraged At Officer Rickey For Using Family Name
Publicado
Miami rapper Rick Ross is trying to use 'Teflon Don' as the name of his next album. But John Gotti's grandson is trying to stop him from using mob boss' nickname.
NyDailyNews.com: "Teflon Don" was mob boss John Gotti's nickname. Now it's the name of Miami rapper Rick Ross' new album.
And Gotti's grandson's got a bone to pick.
The Miami rapper should have gotten the okay from his family first, Carmine Agnello, 24, told the Daily News Tuesday.
"My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather's life," Agnello said.
The Real 'Teflon Don' John Gotti
John Gotti was dubbed the "Teflon Don" after winning acquittal after acquittal in the 1980s. He was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992.
"He should have asked for permission. A standup, respectable guy would come and ask 'If I could use the nickname,'" Agnello, who is trying to launch a music career under the name Carmine Gotti, said of Ross. "I think he's a great artist, but you can't just start calling yourself that to sell records ...He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself."
Carmine Agnello
Then he took another swipe at the 34-year-old, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts.
"Only in America can you go from being a corrections officer to calling yourself Teflon Don," Agnello said, noting Ross' former career.
The choice of "Rick Ross" for his stage name also has gotten him in trouble.
Ross is being sued by ex-druglord Ricky (Freeway) Ross for using his name in a copyright infringement lawsuit.
Ross' fascination with the mob didn't start with the album he released Tuesday. His latest mixtapes, also released this year, were called "The Albert Anastasia EP" and "Carlo Gambino." Both Anastasia and Gambino also were mob bosses.

Genetic Mystery! Black Couple With No Mixed Race History Give Birth To White Baby
Publicado

TheSun.co.uk: British Nmachi Ihegboro has amazed genetics experts who say the little girl is NOT an albino.
Dad Ben, 44, a customer services adviser, admitted: "We both just sat there after the birth staring at her."
Mum Angela, 35, of Woolwich, South London, beamed as she said: "She's beautiful - a miracle baby."
Ben told yesterday how he was so shocked when Nmachi was born, he even joked: "Is she MINE?"
He added: "Actually, the first thing I did was look at her and say, 'What the flip?'"
But as the baby's older brother and sister - both black - crowded round the "little miracle" at their home in South London, Ben declared: "Of course she's mine."
Blue-eyed blonde Nmachi, whose name means "Beauty of God" in the Nigerian couple's homeland, has baffled genetics experts because neither Ben nor wife Angela have ANY mixed-race family history.
Pale genes skipping generations before cropping up again could have explained the baby's appearance.
Ben also stressed: "My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn't been, the baby still wouldn't look like that.
"We both just sat there after the birth staring at her for ages - not saying anything."
Doctors at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup - where Angela, from nearby Woolwich, gave birth - have told the parents Nmachi is definitely no albino.
Ben, who came to Britain with his wife five years ago and works for South Eastern Trains, said: "She doesn't look like an albino child anyway - not like the ones I've seen back in Nigeria or in books. She just looks like a healthy white baby."
He went on: "My mum is a black Nigerian although she has a bit fairer skin than mine.
"But we don't know of any white ancestry. We wondered if it was a genetic twist.
"But even then, what is with the long curly blonde hair?"
Professor Bryan Sykes, head of Human Genetics at Oxford University and Britain's leading expert, yesterday called the birth "extraordinary".
He said: "In mixed race humans, the lighter variant of skin tone may come out in a child - and this can sometimes be startlingly different to the skin of the parents.
"This might be the case where there is a lot of genetic mixing, as in Afro-Caribbean populations. But in Nigeria there is little mixing."
Prof Sykes said BOTH parents would have needed "some form of white ancestry" for a pale version of their genes to be passed on.
But he added: "The hair is extremely unusual. Even many blonde children don't have blonde hair like this at birth."
The expert said some unknown mutation was the most likely explanation.
He admitted: "The rules of genetics are complex and we still don't understand what happens in many cases."
The amazing birth comes five years after Kylie Hodgson became mum to twin daughters - one white and the other black - in Nottingham.
Kylie, now 23, and her partner Remi Horder, now 21, are both mixed race.
Even so the odds were estimated at a million to one.
The Sun told in 2002 how a white couple had Asian twins after a sperm mix-up by a fertility clinic.
Yesterday three-day-old Nmachi's churchgoing mum Angela admitted that she was "speechless" at first seeing her baby girl, who was delivered in a caesarean op.
She said: "I thought, 'What is this little doll?'
"She's beautiful and I love her. Her colour doesn't matter. She's a miracle baby.
"But still, what on earth happened here?"
Her husband told how their son Chisom, four, was even more confused than them by his new sister.
Ben said: "Our other daughter Dumebi is only two so she's too young to understand.
"But our boy keeps coming to look at his sister and then sits down looking puzzled.
"We're a black family. Suddenly he has a white sister."
Ben continued: "Of course, we are baffled too and want to know what's happened. But we understand life is very strange.
"All that matters is that she's healthy and that we love her. She's a proud British Nigerian."

Floyd Mayweather Jr Camp Issues Statement: Says There Were No Negotiations To Fight Pacquiao In November & Either Bob Arum Or HBO Pres Ross Greenburg
Publicado

At 11:59 p.m. on July 16, Arum held a conference call to inform media members that although both sides of the potential megafight had basically agreed on all points of a contract to meet on Nov. 13, Mayweather’s hesitancy to sign off on the deal has forced Top Rank to seek a new opponent for Pacquiao.
In a statement released Monday, Mayweather’s advisor and Leonard Ellerbe said that a deal between the two sides has never been met as Arum had suggested.
“Here are the facts,” the statement said. “(Mayweather’s manager) Al Haymon, (Golden Boy Promotions CEO) Richard Schafer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis and the truth is no negotiations have ever taken place, nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 13.
It was the first statement made by anyone on Mayweather’s side since negotiations reportedly began following Mayweather’s latest win over Shane Mosley on May 1. If made, the fight is expected to be the richest in boxing history with each fighter making up to $60 million.
Both sides were put under a gag order by HBO during negotiations, a request that ended when Arum leaked to certain news sites that the deal was close in late June.
In his conference call on July 16, Arum admitted he hadn’t been in contact directly with Mayweather’s camp and that all negotiations were being relayed through HBO president Ross Greenburg.
Ellerbe’s statement verified as much, saying that either Greenburg or Arum was lying about the negotiations. Not surprisingly, Ellerbe hinted that Arum, who once promoted Mayweather before the two had a falling out, was the culprit
“Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth,” Ellerbe said. “But history tells us who is lying.”
Pacquiao is expected to now face either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito on Nov. 13. According to Arum, a deal with either of those two could be made as quickly as next week.

Wide-eyed primate caught on camera for first time
Publicado

LONDON (AFP) – A "cute" primate so rare it was thought to be extinct has been caught on camera in the forests of Sri Lanka for the first time, scientists said Monday.
The Horton Plains slender loris is a small, nocturnal animal which can grow up to 17 centimetres (six inches) long with big, bulging eyes.
Endemic to Sri Lanka, it was first discovered in 1937 but had only been seen four times since then.
Scientists last caught a glimpse of the primate in 2002, and believed the elusive animal had since died out.
But field researchers, working with the Zoological Society of London, managed to track down the mysterious creature in the forests of central Sri Lanka.
In a world first, they were able to take pictures of an adult male slender loris sitting on a tree branch.
The field team was able to capture one of the creatures and give it a physical examination, the first time that has ever been done, before releasing it back into the wild.
But experts warned that deforestation in Sri Lanka -- largely blamed on the drive to create tea plantations in the region -- was now the biggest threat to the loris.
Craig Turner, a conservation biologist at the ZSL, said their natural forest habitat had been divided up for farming and logging use, cutting off the "very cute" animals from their partners.
"The forest has now been fragmented into a series of small islands," Turner told BBC radio.
"They can't move to one another, they can't mate, breed, so it has real implications for the future persistence of the species."
