David Beckham scores directly from a corner kick

With his pal Prince William in town, Davey Becks showed off a bit of his old set piece magic by scoring the winner in L.A.'s match against Chicago on Saturday night with a corner kick. Eight minutes after Landon Donovan put L.A. up 1-0 in the second half and four minutes after Cristian Nazarith equalized, Beckham curled in his corner kick and it somehow bounced through everyone's legs to find the back of the net. Lucky? Certainly. But it was also well taken.

According to Beckham, the only other time he's done that was while on loan at Preston North End 16 years ago, before he became a star with Manchester United.

That was Becks' second goal of the season and it gave L.A. a 2-1 win to extend their lead atop the Western Conference.

Miami Sports Radio Host Clowns Lil Wayne & Birdman For Jumping Off Heat Bandwagon

The host went off on the pair yesterday (June 13), calling them bandwagon jumpers and homosexuals for partying with Dallas the night they won the trophy. Lil Wayne had been a regular court side at Heat games this season. And Birdman bet $2 million on them to win the championship.

The Ultimate Warrior has released a hate-filled attack against his former rival Hulk Hogan -- claiming the wrestling icon is a cocaine-abusing "dope head" who once tried to get Warrior to have sex with his wife.

Warrior released the rant yesterday to tease a 55 minute anti-Hogan video he plans to release later this month ... the latest attack in a bitter personal feud that's been going on between the wrestlers for years.

Warrior offers no hard evidence to back his claims -- but gives specific details about Hulk's alleged drug use and sex life.

When Hulk was asked if he's seen the new video, Hogan posted on his Twitter page, "I have no interest to even lower myself to communicate with [Warrior]."

Birdman Drops $2 Million Dollar Bet On Miami Heat To Win NBA Finals

Birdman is looking to add another expensive car to his collection and more money to his bank account. He just revealed via twitter that he has put down a $2 million dollar wager on the Miami Heat to win the NBA Championship.

The Heat, led by superstars Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh are already up 1-0 in the best of seven series against the Dallas Mavericks.

Birdman is quite comfortable placing big bets on sports events and seems to be on a nice winning streak.

In May of last year he put $4 million on Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his fight against Sugar Shane Mosley. Then, this past February he placed a $1 million dollar bet on the Green Bay Packers when they played the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. Both times he won.

If he wins this latest bet, he said he'll be buying a new car to go along with his recently purchased $8.7 million dollar Maybach and $2.5 million dollar Bugatti Veyron.

After 19 years in the NBA, Shaquille O'Neal is officially retiring. He made the announcement on a video he posted through his Twitter page.

In his video, Shaq says: "We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that's why I'm telling you first, I'm about to retire. Thank you, talk to you soon."

Barcelona 3 - 1 Man Utd

It was a case of Barcelona once again proving why they are the best club side in world football when they trounced Manchester United 3-1 at a packed Wembley Stadium to claim their fourth UEFA Champions League title.

All three of Barcelona's most forward players, Pedro Rodriguez, Lionel Messi and David Villa struck daggers into United hearts over the course of the game in a brilliant performance against a United side who simply could not match their pace and skill level.

Barca's first goal came from Rodriguez in the 27th minute of the game, but the lead was to last only seven minutes with Wayne Rooney answering in spectacular fashion for United to send the teams into halftime with the scores level at 1-1.

Barcelona came out in the second stanza determined to attack and with Lionel Messi and Adreas Iniesta wreaking havoc with the ball at their feet, United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar was having a touhh time keeping the shots out and would eventually be caught out of position by the rampant Messi at the 54th minute.

Barcelona were not done there and as the Red Devils pushed further up the pitch it exposed some holes in their defence which would allow David Villa to cap an amazing furst year with Barcelona by placing a perfectly hit shot into Van der Sar's top corner to seal the 3-1 victory as Barcelona became kings of European football.

The loss may mark the end of an era at United with Van Der Sar and possibly Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes ending their storied careers at the club.

Randy “Macho Man” Savage wrestler dies

Randy “Macho Man” Savage, a pro wrestling icon whose fame reached far past the wrestling ring as a television pitchman with the phrase, “Snap into a Slim Jim, oooh yeah,” died on Friday morning in Pinellas County, Fla., after reportedly suffering a heart attack while driving, leading to an auto accident.

Savage, born Randall Mario Poffo, was 58. While perhaps best known for his pro wrestling battles as Hulk Hogan’s major storyline rival in the late 1980s, Savage was also an actor and a one-time major league baseball prospect.

Lanny Poffo, his brother and also a former pro wrestler under the handle “Leaping” Lanny Poffo, told TMZ.com that Savage suffered a heart attack behind the wheel while driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler.

The Seminole fire department responded to the scene to provide medical care, and he was transported to Largo Memorial Hospital, where he died at 9:25 a.m. The incident remains under investigation and an autopsy will be performed over the weekend.

Savage’s wife, Barbara Lynn Poffo, who he had known from his days as a minor league baseball player in Florida, long before he met his famous first wife, Elizabeth Hulette, was also in the car. She suffered minor injuries.
