Obama caught on audio slamming GOP

Yesterday, President Obama delivered some of his harshest criticism yet of his recent battle with Republicans to fund the government.

However, Obama may not have intended for everybody to hear him.

While listening to an audio feed from a Chicago fundraiser Thursday night, CBS News reporter Mark Knoller heard Obama speaking with donors after other reporters had left the room. That's when the president really opened up about his disdain for the recent GOP pushback:

"I said, 'You want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?'" the president reportedly said.

Obama also complained about GOP attempts to attach a bill to the resolution to fund the government that would defund women's health services provider Planned Parenthood.

"Put it in a separate bill," the president said he told House Speaker John Boehner and his staff. "We'll call it up. And if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don't try to sneak this through."

The president also made clear he is no fan of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the GOP's Budget Committee chairman.

"When Paul Ryan says his priority is to make sure, he's just being America's accountant ... This is the same guy that voted for two wars that were unpaid for, voted for the Bush tax cuts that were unpaid for, voted for the prescription drug bill that cost as much as my health care bill--but wasn't paid for," Obama reportedly said.

Barry Bonds Found Guilty Of Obstruction Of Justice, Could Face 10 Years In Prison

Barry Bonds got some good and bad news today in his obstruction of justice trial.

Baseball's home run king was found guilty on one count of obstructing justice while avoiding a perjury conviction after jurors couldn’t decide whether he knew he was taking steroids. U.S. District Judge Susan Illston subsequently declared a mistrial on three perjury charges.

In all it has to be considered a win for Bonds. Although he faces a maximum of ten years in federal prison, most feel he will avoid jail time

Bonds won't be penalized by Major League Baseball, he still remains the home run king.

L.A. Reid may have bounced from Universal Music Group, but he's far from being done as a record executive.

And with good reason - This is the same man who signed artists like Outkast, Mariah Carey, Pink, TLC, Usher, Ciara and many more. It's obvious he has an eye for musical talent, it was just time to move on from UMG.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the third movie Smith's character, Agent J, goes back in time to 1969 and encounters the younger version of Jones's Agent K, played by Brolin. From the looks of the pictures, it seems that Brolin has stepped into Jones's patent leather shoes just fine.

Robbers Leave Empty Handed When Hammer And Shotgun Blasts Fail To Break Jewelry Glass

A pair of bumbling burglars are on the run in Hawaii after their bid to rob a jewelry store failed spectacularly.

The masked bandits burst into the Zales Outlet jewelry store in Waikele about 8:40 p.m. Saturday night armed with a shotgun and hammer.

The robbery attempt went south immediately.

One of the men struck several display cases with a hammer but couldn't break them.

Then, his partner in crime opened fire on the displays, but still they did not shatter, authorities told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The hapless bandits fled without any jewels in a stolen car that was later discovered engulfed in flames, authorities said. Witnesses gave police the license plate of the stolen car.

Cops are hunting the men on suspicion of first-degree robbery, first-degree reckless endangerment, driving a stolen vehicle and first-degree arson.

LeBron's Mother -- The Valet SLAP FOOTAGE

TMZ has obtained security footage showing LeBron James' mother slapping a parking valet at a hotel in Miami Beach last week ... but the video shows Gloria James may NOT have made the first move.

During the encounter ... Gloria walks up to the valet, Rockfeller Sorel, and gets in his face over the parking situation. As Gloria verbally unloads, Rockfeller takes an advancing step towards Gloria and bumps her.

Gloria quickly recovers and unleashes the slap heard 'round the world with her left hand -- and then swings her purse at the guy's head with her right hand.

Sorel, clearly upset, takes several aggressive steps towards Gloria ... who then slips and falls while retreating.

Gloria gets off the ground and tries to go after the valet -- but several bystanders get in between the two and break it up.

Gloria was eventually arrested for battery and public intoxication -- and then, according to police, she started talking trash to one of the officers.

We called Gloria's Miami attorneys Christopher Lyons and Sandy Becher -- they declined to comment on the video or the matter at this time.

Meanwhile, the valet has made it very clear he intends to go after Gloria in court.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Can a teen idol get a break from the paparazzi when he visits holy sites?.

Evidently not, as Justin Bieber is finding out on his visit to Israel, where he is scheduled to play a concert in Tel Aviv on Thursday..

The Canadian pop star sent out a series of angry Twitter messages on Tuesday, complaining that aggressive photographers had forced him to spend the rest of his trip holed up in his hotel room..

"You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places," wrote 17 year-old Bieber, who is a practicing Christian. "All I wanted was the chance to walk where jesus did here in isreal (sic).".

"They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous ... People wait their whole lives for opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone ... Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week u happy?".

According to the London-based Jewish Chronicle, Bieber was scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tour the Dead Sea, Masada and Caesarea..

After his concert at Hayarkon Park in the bustling city, he will likely face another round of paparazzi when he begins an Asian-Pacific swing in Malaysia on April 21..

Serena back on court in stunning outfit

Serena Williams is back on the tennis court for the first time since a health scare sidelined her two months ago. And, in typical Serena fashion, she did so in style.

What, you expected the woman who once wore this to a US Open to practice in a tennis skirt and sweater vest? If Serena is coming back, it's going to be with some gusto.

The 13-time Grand Slam champion had been hinting at a return to the court for the past few days on her Twitter account. Cryptic messages like "my life starts today" and "back on the shakes" foreshadowed Tuesday's practice session, which was announced in the third-person and later confirmed by her agent.

The outfit, however, was a complete surprise. It's not like Serena had given any warnings that she had recently watched Molly Ringwald in "Pretty In Pink" or was reading "Catwoman" comic books.

There's no word as of yet on when Serena will return to competitive play. It'll come in time. For now, just seeing her on the court with a racquet in her hand is good news enough.

46% Of State Republicans Think Interracial Marriage Should Be Illegal

Mississippi GOP: Interracial Marriage Should be Banned

With closed minded people like the ones in Mississippi it's no wonder why Republicans have a hard time attracting more African Americans.

In a survey conducted by phone, Public Policy Polling of Raleigh, N.C., found that 46% of of GOP respondents thought interracial marriage should be illegal.

Interracial marriages were in fact illegal until a 1967 Supreme Court ruling forced the state to change it's laws.

40% felt mixed marriages should remain legal while 14% weren't sure.

The Daily Mail reports that even with Mississippi's backwards view on race and relationships, the state led the nation in the growth of mixed marriages for most of the last decade. However, the multiracial population remains small, about 1.1 per cent.

Hard to believe this kind of stuff is still being debated in 2011.

It's really sad to report that singer Nate Dogg's home was foreclosed on just two days after his death last month.

According to TMZ, Nate, born Nathanial Hale had fallen behind on payments for his Pamona, California home by $5,924.12

Nate had become ill after suffering two strokes and had been unable to work.

Latest Gucci Mane Arrest Details: Woman Pushed From Moving Car For Refusing $150 Sexual Advance

As you have probably heard by now, rapper Gucci Mane was arrested for battery Friday (April 8).

At the time details were sketchy other than Gucci had pushed a woman from a moving car. Now the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dekalb County, Georgia police are confirming the incident started with unwanted sexual advances towards a woman Gucci had just picked up at a mall.

Gucci invited the woman out for breakfast, which she agreed to. At some point an offer of $150.00 is made to the woman if she would stop at a local motel with Mr LaFlare.

When she refused, Gucci booted her out of his car while it was still moving.

The woman was treated at a local hospital for "soreness and pain."

For Gucci this is just the latest in a long string of incidents with the law. The rapper could get his probation revoked and sent back to prison if found guilty.

New oil source under Utah ignites debate

SALT LAKE CITY – Beneath the lush, green hills of eastern Utah's Uinta Basin, where elk, bear and bison outnumber people, the soil is saturated with a sticky tar that may soon provide a new domestic source of petroleum for the United States. It would be a first-of-its kind project in the country that some fear could be a slippery slope toward widespread wilderness destruction.

With crude prices surging beyond $100 a barrel, and politicians preaching the need to reduce America's reliance on foreign supplies, companies are now looking for more local sources. One Canadian firm says it's found it in the tar sands of Utah's Book Cliffs.

Alberta-based Earth Energy Resources Inc. aims to start with a roughly 62-acre mine here to produce bitumen, a tar-like form of petroleum, from oil-soaked sands. For decades, other Utah operators have used oil sands as a poor-man's asphalt, and Canada has been wringing oil from the ground for years, but nobody has yet tried to produce petroleum from U.S. soil on such a scale.

And it could be just the beginning. The company has over 7,800 acres of Utah state land under lease, with plans to acquire more, and estimates its current holdings contain more than 250 million barrels of recoverable oil.

Michael Shannon to play villain in Superman movie

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michael Shannon, who received an Oscar nomination for his supporting role as a mentally troubled man in "Revolutionary Road" two years ago, has been cast as the villain in the upcoming Superman film.

He will play General Zod opposite Henry Cavill 's Superman in "Superman: Man of Steel." Zod, like Superman, is from Krypton, where he commanded its armed forces. The character appeared in both 1978's "Superman" and its sequel "Superman II," where he was played by Terence Stamp .

"Zod is not only one of Superman's most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don't," said Zach Snyder, the director of the new film. "Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role."

Shannon, seen more recently as a stern federal agent in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," joins a lineup that also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent, the adoptive parents of Superman's alter ego Clark Kent.

Interest surrounding the expedition is hitting a fever pitch as rumors of their score leaked out.

What's so stunning about this find is the wave's coffee-colored walls break from top to bottom, similar to the hollow powerful waves that peel over coral reefs. But the riverbank refraction of the primary wave sends rebound wedges perpendicular across the river, carving the secondary wave into a line of spinning peaks with cookie-cutter perfection. These mirror-reflection spinners appear choreographed, with all the symmetry of a Rockettes' leg kick, the likes of which has never be found in the ocean...at least not yet.

These are some of the first stunning images of this amazing discovery. Rip Curl will surely be releasing more in the days ahead as they ramp up for the 50th Anniversary of the Rip Curl Pro, the world's longest running professional surfing contest, set for later this month.

Freeway Rick Ross Taking Officer Ross To Court Again To Win Back His Name

The real "Freeway" Rick Ross is taking Officer Ross aka William Roberts II to court for a second time.

While Ross was incarcerated, Roberts used his name and fake cocaine tales to gain fame. Basically Roberts is rapping about the life that Ross actually lived and served time for.

Ross sued Roberts, Jay-Z, Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group in federal court for trademark violations, unfair competition and misappropriation of his publicity rights.

Ross lost that case, but now has new legal representation in law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. This time Ross' team will sue on a state level.

“We always knew our case was stronger in the state than it was in the feds,” Ross told BET. “California state law really protects people with their names and their likenesses. So we knew that was stronger inside California than it was in the feds, but we wanted to go the big route first then work our way down.”

Ross regrets his previous life as a drug dealer. He feels like Roberts message is wrong for kids.

“We’re both teaching two different messages," Ross said "He’s teaching my old life: sell drugs, disrespect women, all the things that really have our country in shambles. I’m teaching uplifting values, education, literacy. He’s teaching illiteracy,"

Ross presents his case in court on May 2.

Kanye West's "Stronger" Voted The Greatest Workout Song Of All Time

Gold's Gym conducted a nationwide poll and Kanye West's "Stronger" came away the winner as the greatest workout song ever.

The song was nominated by former NFL All Pro Michael Strahan. His New York Giants won Super Bowl XLII after taking the field to the song “I was thrilled to hear that ‘Stronger’ won the March Music Madness Bracket Challenge. The song brings back great memories of Super Bowl XLII and is still on my iPod everyday in the gym," Strahan said.

"Stronger" beat out four other songs for the crown. Guns N Roses' "Welcome To The Jungle", Eminem's "Lose Yourself", Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow" and The theme from the movie 'Rocky' were the other finalists.

The song appears on Kanye West's 2007 album 'Graduation'.

?uestlove Of The Roots Takes Offense To Ashley Judd Calling Rap "Rape Culture", Actress Backtracks

Drummer ?uestlove of the Philadelphia rap band The Roots took to his twitter page to talk about actress Ashley Judd's negative comments regarding rap music.

Judd wrote in her new memoir 'All That Is Bitter and Sweet' that rap is "rape culture."

Here is a portion of Judd's thoughts about rap as written in her book

"Along with other performers, YouthAIDS was supported by rap and hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy to spread the message...um, who? Those names were a red flag. As far as I'm concerned, most rap and hip-hop music -- with it's rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as 'ho's' -- is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny. I believe that the social construction of gender -- the cultural beliefs and practices that divide the sexes and institutionalize and normalize the unequal treatment of girls and women, privilege the interests of boys and men, and, most nefariously, incessantly sexualize girls and women -- is the root cause of poverty and suffering around the world."

Apparently Judd practices what she preaches. ?uest describes her attitude during her appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where The Roots are the house band as being cold.

"hmmm. at least i got my answer as to why ash judd didn't give us so much as a nod on her last visit. im a criminal," ?uest wrote.

?uest compares Judd's disdain for rap to Oprah Winfrey's.

Judd herself is now backtracking from the statements. According to Eonline the actress regrets making the remarks. saying

"What I'm being accused of is condemning rap and hip-hop as a whole, and the whole community and when they say community, they mean the fans, and African-Americans, it's become so generalized. My intention was to take a stand to say the elements that are misogynistic and treat girls and women in a hyper-sexualized way are inappropriate."

Ashley spoke on a subject she has very little knowledge about and got shut down. You don't have to like rap music, but at least if you're going to criticize it know what you're talking about.

NBA fines Jay-Z for Kentucky locker room visit

Jay-Z's visit to the Kentucky locker room after the Wildcats clinched a spot in the Final Four has come back to haunt the billionaire rapper.

Jay-Z, the minority owner of the New Jersey Nets, has been fined $50,000 from the NBA for impermissible contact with collegiate players. NBA rules prohibit any team personnel from having contact with players who are not yet entered into the draft. The theory is that it gives an advantage into scouting.

Jay-Z's visit was a surprise as he entered the locker room during the Wildcats celebration and started shaking hands and snapping pictures with the team.

Celebrity sightings aren't exactly out of the norm for Kentucky. Rapper Drake showed up in Kentucky's locker room several times after victories during the 2010 NCAA tournament and Ashley Judd and LeBron James have also made appearances.

But the difference between them and Jay-Z is that none of them have a monetary stake in an NBA team.

Kentucky has at least four players that could be NBA draft picks in June.

50 just put on blast video model Eboni Jackson for blowing up his phone.

According to sources close to the rapper, Eboni was seen hiding behind trash dumpsters outside the studio where 50 is currently recording his new album in LA.
