Compton Drive Thru Funeral Home Becomes Popular

Publicado  April 19, 2011

Peggy Scott Adams married into a family business that is quite different from most. Her funeral home in Compton, California offers a person's family, friends and even sometimes complete strangers a chance to view their remains, without even having to get out of their car.

The Adams Mortuary was reportedly inspired by a couple of funeral homes in the south that offer the same drive thru service.

"It's a unique feature that sets us aside from other funeral parlors," Scott Adams told the L.A. Times. "You can come by after work, you don't need to deal with parking, you can sign the book outside and the family knows that you paid your respects - It's a convenience thing."

The funeral home is popular among gang members because of it's easy accessibility and bullet proof glass casing.

"It's a ministry for me to be able to help people at one of the most traumatic times of their life," Scott Adams says.
